What Is Electroplating?

Electroplating is the process of plating one metal onto another.

It is most commonly used for industrial and decorative purposes and to prevent corrosion of a metal. Electroplating allows manufacturers to use inexpensive metals such as steel to manufacture their product and then electroplate different metals onto the part to provide for appearance, protection, and other properties desired for the product.
